15 to receive badges Tuesday

Graduation exercises for the 28th basic training class of the Caddo Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, in the banquet room at Summer Grove Baptist Church.

Graduates will take the oath of office, receive their badges, and participate in a special ceremony where family and friends assist them with pinning on their badges for the first time.

Class participants received 320 hours or more of peace officer training in areas including law, patrol activities, traffic services, report writing, investigations, firearms, first aid, and criminal justice.

Graduates of the Academy are: James William Cantrell and Delexis Danielle Hills, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office; Charles Jeffrey Clark, Webster Parish Sheriff's Office; Varnell Patrick Sapp, Winn Parish Sheriff's Office; Marvin Ray Venious, Red River Parish Sheriff's Office; Jason Dean Ambrose and Dustin Brandon Hasty, Mansfield Police Department; Elvin Rosa, Greenwood Police Department; Matthew Dewayne Hicks and Lapommer Lee Walton, Coushatta Police Department; Tyler David Nies, Northwestern State University Police Department; Jermias Gabriel Carter, State Military Department, Camp Minden; Travis Joshun Clark and Andrew Douglas Seltz, Caddo Parish Animal Services.
