Javorus C. Bates turned himself in at the Bossier City Police headquarters Tuesday evening and was subsequently booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of attempted second degree murder.

Bossier City police have obtained a criminal arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with a shooting last week that injured another man. Javorus C. Bates, 20, of Shreveport is wanted on a charge of attempted second degree murder. Bond on the warrant is set at $200,000. Bates is accused of shooting James Earl Brown, 39, of Bossier City during an argument at a home in the 1500 block of Carver Street at approximately 11 p.m. on November 3, 2010.
Brown was taken by private car to Willis Knighton Bossier and later transferred to LSU Hospital in Shreveport with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. He has since been released from the hospital.
Javorus C. Bates is described as a light skinned black male, about 5’10, weighing approximately 170 pounds and has several gold front teeth.
