Arrest made in Shreveport hit and run
On the evening of May 28, 2011, the Shreveport Police Department and the Shreveport Fire Department responded to a major crash on La 3132 between Walker Road and 70th Street. A GMC Yukon was struck by a Hit and Run driver which caused it to have a high speed roll over. The suspect vehicle left the scene. On June 8, 2011, the Shreveport Police Department turned over the case to the Sheriff’s Office when it was determined the crash actually occurred in unincorporated Caddo Parish. The Traffic Safety Unit re-investigated the crash. This afternoon (Thursday)First judicial District Court Judge John Moseley signed a warrant for the arrest of Billy C. Presley, age 29, of North Southland Park in Shreveport for one count of Felony Hit and Run Driving and two counts of First Degree Vehicular Negligent Injuring. Judge Moseley ordered Presley held without bond. He was arrested and booked at CCC this (Thursday) evening.
Five occupants of the SUV were transported to local hospitals. The victims were a 10 day old infant, a four year old child, Wenona Quint, age 32, Grace Smith, age 58, and Gary Faulk, age 66. The driver, Grace Smith, received a serious injury. Ray Faulk, seated in a second row seat, was also seriously injured and is still hospitalized.
The investigation revealed Presley had been drinking at a residence in Greenwood and had deliberately run over a gate when he left the address prior to the crash on La 3132.
