Authorities looking for man accused of domestic violence

Shreveport Police detectives are looking for a local man accused of severely battering a woman last summer.

At approximately 12:25 a.m. on August 14, 2010, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a domestic battery call at Willis Knighton Hospital in the 2500 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Upon arrival, officers contacted an adult female victim who reported that her boyfriend, 33 year old Kelvin Carter, attacked her during an argument and choked her to the point that she lost consciousness. The victim suffered serious injuries as a result of this battery.

Investigators began their investigation and ultimately obtained a warrant for the arrest of Kelvin Carter, of the 100 block of Trent Trail in Shreveport, charging him with one count of felony domestic abuse battery. Carter is described as a black male about five feet six inches tall weighing approximately 200 pounds. His bond is set at $50,000.
