Bossier police investigating credit union robbery

The Bossier City Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred this morning at the Barksdale Federal Credit Union drive thru building in the 2700 block of Douglas Drive.

The suspect reportedly entered the building around 7:30 a.m. and confronted an employee who was opening for the day. The suspect was reportedly armed with a handgun and demanded money from the employee. He then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The employee was not injured.

Bossier City patrol officers and K-9 units immediately converged on the area looking for the suspect. Shortly after 8 a.m. two individuals were taken into custody as possible suspects near the intersection of Douglas Drive and Clinton Street and are being questioned by detectives.

Bossier City police are asking residents of the Greenacres neighborhood in the vicinity west of the crime scene to call them at (318) 741-8605 should they find any unusual items on their property as they may be related to the robbery. If such items are located residents are urged not to touch them to preserve the integrity of possible evidence.
