Bossier police looking for hit and run driver

Bossier City police are asking the public for help in finding a hit and run driver who struck a man in the 2200 block of Barksdale Boulevard last night. It happened in the intersection of Rome Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene they found the victim, identified as Andrew L. Burks, 29, of Elm Grove, lying in the roadway unresponsive with a serious head injury. Bossier City Fire Department personnel took him to LSU Hospital in Shreveport where he was listed in serious condition this morning.

Officers were unable to locate anyone at the scene who witnesses the incident. A right side rear view mirror along with other debris found at the scene indicates the suspect vehicle may be a black Ford F-150 pickup truck or a black Ford Expedition.

Persons who contact Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to a $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
