Caddo sheriff's deputies are investigating an overnight crash that took the life of a 17-year-old Shreveport man, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Justin Hightower was traveling north in the 3100 block of Roy Road when his Ford Ranger pickup veered off the road to the right. Crash investigators said it appeared Hightower overcorrected and traveled back across the road, driving into a ditch, and flipping his truck. Hightower was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the vehicle.
A motorist spotted the crash scene around 5 a.m. today and alerted authorities. Hightower's family said they had been trying to reach him by phone and even drove around the area last night searching for his vehicle. They last spoke with him around 11 p.m. after he got off work at a local grocery store.
