Caddo Sheriff's officials are investing a copper wiring theft that closed one local school early this morning.

According to Sheriff Steve Prator, the missing copper was discovered at around 9 a.m. at Northwood High School.

About 1,200 feet of copper wiring was cut and taken from two panels in the school's boiler room. Authorities believe the crime was committed during the school's Spring Break.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Det. Michael Price at 675-2170 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.

Caddo school officials closed the school early today because of the broken air conditioning system.
