Two suspected armed robbers are behind bars after a concerned citizen flagged down patrol officers and alerted them to a robbery in progress at a west Shreveport convenience store.

At approximately 9:55 p.m. last night, a citizen flagged down a patrol officer and reported that they had just observed two masked men run out of the Hollywood Shopette in the 1800 block of Hollywood Avenue. Officers immediately responded to the store and learned that two male suspects, one of whom was armed with a sawed-off shotgun, entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the robbers fled the scene of the crime on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

Investigating officers inundated the area in an attempt to locate the suspects and, a short time later, found the pair and took them both into custody. Officers also recovered the money taken in the robbery and the shotgun they believed was used by the robbers. Detectives have charged 19 year old Jerri Reed and 18 year old Jeremy White, both of the 1500 block of Lash Street in Shreveport, with one count of armed robbery each. Both men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
