Business went on as usual at the Bossier City Council meeting Tuesday afternoon with everyone accounted for after Councilman James 'Chubby' Knight was arrested on Monday.
Councilman Knight assumed his seat as usual on the council despite his arrest on charges of bank fraud following a three and a half month-long investigation. Officials said that Knight cashed a counterfeit cashier's check for almost $4000, as well as two money orders for almost $1000 at two separate banks in Bossier City.
The councilman is not required to resign from his position on the council.
The mayor and council members stayed focused on business and the city budget for next year during Tuesday's meeting. They chose not to address Councilman Knight's arrest or any future decisions made about his arrest related to his seat on the council.
No court date has been set for a hearing on Knight's bank fraud charge.
