Detectives arrest man in home invasion
A local man is behind bars this morning charged with a home invasion that occurred last weekend in west Shreveport.
Investigators arrested 31 year old Christopher M. Spradling yesterday without incident after information and evidence gathered throughout the course of their inquiry indicated that Spradling allegedly planned the home invasion robbery that occurred on Wisteria Street last Sunday morning. Spradling, of the 1900 block of North Market Street in Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of being a principal to home invasion.
The caper began just after 9:30 a.m. on July 10, 2011, when an adult female victim who lives there in the 2700 block of Wisteria Street heard a knock on her door and, upon further inspection, observed a white male standing outside of her house. Thinking it was someone who had worked for her in the past, she opened the door and immediately realized she did not know the man. The suspect then pushed her to the ground and entered the home and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim was not injured during this incident.
Detectives report they have tentatively identified a second suspect and are working to obtain an arrest warrant for that person at this time. Anyone having any information regarding this home invasion is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
