A year-long drug investigation by the Bossier City Police Department and the FBI’s Northwest Louisiana Violent Crimes Task Force resulted in the arrest of a father and son and the seizure of drugs, weapons and more than $13,000 in cash.

Members of the BCPD’s Division of Special Investigations including narcotics agents and the Street Crime Interdiction Unit arrested Luther J. Scott, 65, on drug and weapons charges after executing a search warrant at Scott’s home in the 1400 block of Griffin Lane late last Thursday evening. As a result of the search warrant officers seized $13,365 cash, 19.5 grams of cocaine, a 1995 GMC pickup truck, five firearms and drug paraphernalia. Agents with the FBI Task Force arrested Scott’s son, 24-year old Parnell Scott a few hours later in Shreveport in connection with the case.

Luther Scott was booked into the Bossier City Jail for possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of weapons. Parnell Scott was arrested for manufacturing and distribution of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance and violating probation and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
