Caddo deputies arrested a Shreveport man for DWI after he crashed his car and injured his 9-year-old passenger.

37-year-old Anthony Lomas was driving westbound on Old Mooringsport Road Tuesday evening when he lost control of his car, crossed the roadway and hit a utility pole. The impact flipped his 2009 Kia Spectra upside down. Lomas told investigating deputy Jessica Benevage that he was talking on the phone at the time of the crash.

Lomas was not injured, but a boy in his car was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle.

Lomas was arrested for DWI second offense with an enhanced penalty for having a juvenile in the car. He was booked into Caddo Correctional Center by Cpl. Gary Pace.
