A Bossier Parish man has been arrested after a security guard witnessed him stealing fireworks from a west Shreveport vendor.
At approximately 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, Shreveport police officers responded to a call from a security guard working at a fireworks tent in the 3800 block of Jewella Avenue, reporting that a male suspect had been seen cutting a hole in the fence surrounding the tent. The guard was able to maintain surveillance on the man until officers arrived on scene and took the alleged burglar into custody without incident.
Officers were able to find about $180 worth of fireworks that the man had stolen. The alleged thief is identified as 42-year-old George Walker, Jr. of the 200 block of Gallilee Street in Haughton, LA, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary.
