Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says he needs the public’s help in finding persons responsible for damaging vending machines while attempting to pry them open over the past few weeks.
Detectives with the Bossier Sheriff’s Department are looking for three men who were caught on video in the early morning of Dec. 18 trying to break into a vending machine at Bossier Power Equipment on 2101 Benton Road in Bossier City. The three suspects are white, approximately late teens or early 20s. One of the suspects stood watch by the vehicle, a silver 4-door sedan which had the hood up to indicate some type of mechanical problem, while the other two attempted to break into the vending machine. The video goes on to show when drivers passed by, the three suspects all appeared to hover over the car, as though they were tending to mechanical problems with the vehicle. When the vehicles passed, the men went back to their business. The men were unsuccessful in opening the vending machine completely, but they did pry it enough to get the paper money from the machine. They also caused $1,200 in damage.
Bossier City Police detectives have also reported similar incidents at area businesses where the suspects retrieved the paper money and caused damage to the vending machines. Bossier Sheriff’s Department detectives are also working other similar cases.
Anyone with information about the persons responsible for these crimes is asked to contact the Bossier Sheriff’s Department at 318-965-2203 to speak with a detective. If other businesses have had similar crimes, please contact their local law enforcement agency.
