Between the storms in Missouri and the flooding in Louisiana, help is flooding in from all over the country to start cleaning up and sifting through the damage.
Here in the Ark-La-Tex, The Salvation Army has teamed up with two local companies to help the victims of the flooding in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
Too much river water is flooding towns near the Mississippi River, but no enough drinking water is getting to residents and volunteers. Music Mountain Water and Tango Transport, Inc. joined with The Salvation Army to make sure flood victims have that safe water to drink.
Music Mountain Water donated 22 pallets of water to those affected in the most recent flooding disaster, said Chris D. Gorman, Executive Vice President of Tango Transport, Inc.
Tango Transport will drive that water to Vicksburg, MS where The Salvation Army is already offering aid.
Vicksburg is not the only disaster area that Tango Transport and The Salvation Army are helping.
Tango Transport will also help those affected by the recent storms in Joplin, Missouri. The Salvation Army already has local personnel on the ground in Joplin. The Shreveport-Bossier area chapter is on hold and prepared to provide additional material assistance if needed.
