Man allegedly shot at after withholding money
Authorities are investigating an altercation between two men in west Shreveport that ended with one person firing shots at the other.
At around 1:12 a.m. Thursday Shreveport officers were notified by officials at a local hospital that a man had shown up in their emergency room with what he claimed was a bullet wound to his neck. Police found 24-year old Mark Hill was not shot at all.
According to Hill, he was approached in the 3000 block of Gaywood Street by a man he knew who asked him for money. When Hill refused to give him any money, the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and shot at him. The bullets struck Hill’s vehicle as he was driving away, and apparently glass fragments struck Hill in the neck causing injury.
Investigators later found shell casings on Gaywood Street.
Detectives are working at this time to positively identify the man that fired shots at Hill and determine exactly what transpired that led to those shots being fired. Anyone with any information regarding this shooting is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
