A large fire destroyed part of the Woodlawn Baptist Church late Thursday night.
It happened around 11 p.m. on Highway 59 just north of Marshall, Texas.
The fellowship hall was lost before firefighters contained the blaze at approximately 12:30 a.m., according to Marshall fire officials.
The church's sanctuary, a nearby building, was not affected by flames.
Fire Marshall Thomas Mock tells KMSS, mechanical issues from the building's water heater are suspected to have caused the incident.
