Morning melee leaves victim wounded, suspect jailed

Friday, October 7, 2011 - 6:16pm

A Shreveport woman sits behind bars this afternoon accused of slashing another female with a razor blade during an argument.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 7, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a reported stabbing at a home in the 3700 block of Jackson Street. Upon arrival there, officers found 43 year old Charlene Johnson suffering from lacerations to her face and chest. Johnson was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described as serious injuries.

Detectives responded to the scene of the crime and, upon further investigation, learned Johnson and 30 year old Kimberly Jackson were involved in some sort of dispute during which Jackson allegedly produced a razor blade like weapon and cut the victim at least two times. Jackson, of the 3700 block of Jackson Street in Shreveport, was taken into custody without incident by patrolmen and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated battery.
