Overnight shooting sends 1 woman to hospital
Shreveport Police are working a shooting that allegedly occurred this morning in west Shreveport and left a local woman suffering from a minor wound.
At approximately 12:35 a.m. on July 5, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 3800 block of Doris Avenue relative to reported shooting. Upon arrival there, officers found 29 year old Skyla Foster suffering from a gunshot wound to her right calf. She was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as a non-life-threatening injury
Upon further investigation, detectives learned Foster was apparently one of five occupants in a vehicle at the time she was shot. Witnesses in the vehicle provided detectives with conflicting statements regarding exactly where the shooting occurred and investigators are working at this time to determine exactly how the victim was wounded.
