A Shreveport Police patrol officer has arrested a local man for breaking into a vehicle.
At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police Officer Hai Phan was on routine patrol in the 1200 block of Fannin Street when he observed 37 year old Antonio Gray walking in the street there carrying a Craftsman tool set and an electric grinder. As Officer Phan detained Gray, police received a call in reference to a vehicle burglary in the 300 block of Clyde Fant Parkway relative to some tools being taken from a truck there.
Officers conducting the investigation were able to view surveillance video that showed Antonio Gray removing the items from the victim’s vehicle in the 300 block of Clyde Fant Parkway. Gray was subsequently arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of walking in the street when a sidewalk is provided and simple burglary. He also had a warrant outstanding for his arrest through the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and was booked in as a fugitive as well.
