Police arrest gunman in Shreveport weekend shooting
Officials have arrested one person in connection with a weekend shooting in Shreveport.
The incident happened Friday on the 300 block of West 77th Street in the Cedar Grove neighborhood.
Investigators charged 25-year-old Donovan R. Samuel, of Shreveport, with one count of attempted second degree murder for his alleged role in the shooting of 26-year-old Marcus Kellum.
Kellum, who was shot once in the leg, told police that two men in a pick-up truck approached him as he stood outside of a home, and one of the men, later identified as Samuel, pulled a handgun and fired at him. Kellum was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two men.
Samuel was taken into custody at his home and booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
