Police need public's help in catching alleged robber

Police need your help in apprehending a suspect who allegedly robbed a Family Dollar store in north Shreveport Wednesday night.

At approximately 6:13 p.m. on Wednesady, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the 2600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. A witness told officers that a male suspect entered the store, produced a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a black t-shirt and white shorts with a black rag covering half of his face, received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store on foot. No one was injured during the robbery.

Robbery detectives were immediately dispatched and in short order were able to develop a suspect. Thursday morning investigators obtained a warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Cardario Winn charging him with one count of armed robbery. The bond is set at $200,000. Winn, of the 2100 block of Linear Street in Shreveport, should be considered armed and dangerous.
