Lafayette was the site for thousands of residents as they packed the Cajundome for today's rally for economic survival.
The rally's goal was to build pressure to lift a federal moratorium on deepwater drilling.
The rally was also trying to show the people that are most affected, whether in the oilfield or other industries.
Governor Bobby Jindal, Lt. Governor Scott Angelle, Bill Nungesser and John Hofmeister all spoke.
An estimated 12,000 showed up for Wednesday's event.
