An employee with the City of Shreveport has been arrested and charged with theft and unauthorized use of an access card after it was learned that she unlawfully used it to obtain fuel for her personal use.

56-year old Diane Reliford Thomas was arrested Wednesday after an investigation revealed that she used her city issued fuel card to fill her personal vehicle along with a separate fuel container with gasoline from a city operated fueling source.

Thomas, whose been employed with the S.P.A.R. for over 14 years, cites financial distress as the motivating factor for her actions. Thomas will be placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
