Shreveport investigators looking into claim of sexual assault

Shreveport Police detectives are investigating a reported sexual assault that allegedly occurred Monday night in downtown Shreveport.

At approximately 9:21 p.m. Monday, Shreveport police officers were dispatched to Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel in the 300 block of Clyde Fant Parkway relative to a sexual assault. Upon arrival there, officers contacted an 18-year-old woman who said that she had been sexually assaulted by a male suspect. The woman was taken to a local hospital by responding officers.

Detectives were immediately summoned and have learned that the victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted in the 500 block Travis Street earlier in the evening. Crime scene investigators were notified and as part of their ongoing investigation, have recovered evidence from the alleged crime scene. The investigation is continuing at this time.
