Shreveport man accused of stabbing behind bars
A Desoto Parish man wanted in connection with a stabbing in downtown Shreveport is behind bars this afternoon.
Just after 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 25 year old Steven Cloud surrendered to detectives at the Shreveport Police Complex. Cloud, of the 300 block of Meadow Drive in Gloster, Louisiana, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated battery.
Investigators believe Cloud stabbed 23 year old James Coan during an altercation in the 500 block of Commerce Street on July 3, 2011. According to information gathered by detectives, Coan observed Cloud and a female subject engaged in a physical dispute there and when he attempted to intervene, Cloud allegedly produced a knife. Coan tried to flee but fell to the ground at which time Cloud stabbed him. The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described as serious injuries.
