A Shreveport man is behind bars for forgery after depositing two counterfeit money orders into his bank account.

Authorities arrested Eric Williams, 28, Tuesday. According to officials, Williams said he received two money orders valued at $815 each from a friend and was to cash them and give the money back to his friend, but instead deposited the money orders into his own account. He then withdrew about $1,200 and spent the money on Christmas.

Williams was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
