Shreveport officer arrested for DWI in patrol car
A Shreveport Police officer has been arrested this afternoon for driving while intoxicated.
At approximately 2:52 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport police patrol officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Foster Street relative to a call from a concerned citizen regarding a marked Shreveport Police unit parked in the middle of the street there. The caller reported the driver appeared to be disoriented. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered that Officer Pat Hensley, who was off-duty, had apparently been operating his assigned unit while impaired. Hensley was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Shreveport City Jail where he was booked in on one count of first offense driving while intoxicated.
Hensley, who was hired by the department in July of 2006, is being placed on paid administrative leave by Chief of Police Willie Shaw pending an administrative investigation.
