Shreveport Police investigating early morning shooting

Shreveport Police detectives are investigating an early morning shooting that sent a local teenager to the hospital.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. this morning, patrol officers were dispatched out to the 1500 block of Alston Street relative to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, identified as a 17 year old male, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. The victim was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what have been described as non-life- threatening injuries.

Detectives were immediately dispatched and have learned that the victim was apparently riding a bicycle in the 200 block of N. Dale Avenue when a suspect or suspects in a dark colored SUV began shooting at him. The victim told investigators that he did not know who shot him.
