Shreveport Police are investigating a fatality crash that occurred Monday on Interstate 20.
At approximately 3:42 p.m. Monday, Shreveport police patrol officers were dispatched to Interstate 20 westbound just east of Jewella Avenue to a one-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers found a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe resting upside down between the center and outside lanes of the interstate. The driver of the vehicle, an adult female, was still in the SUV while her passenger, an adult male, had been ejected. Both were transported to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department, where the male passenger was later pronounced deceased. The female driver is reported to have suffered moderate injuries.
Patrolmen had to shut down all westbound lanes of the interstate between Hearne Avenue and Jewella Avenue for a time while waiting for investigators and the wrecker service to arrive. Shreveport Police crash investigators processed the scene and are working at this time to determine exactly what happened to cause this crash.
The names of the man and woman involved in the crash are not being released at this time pending notification of family members of the deceased.
