Shreveport police looking for Family Dollar robber

Shreveport Police need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a Family Dollar store in west Shreveport last night.

At approximately 8:35 p.m. on February 27, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the 6300 block of Jefferson Paige Road. Upon arrival there, a witness told officers that a male suspect brandishing a handgun entered the store, approached the employees and demanded money at gunpoint. The suspect, described as a male wearing a black hoodie, black pants and black gloves with a black mask over his face, received an undisclosed amount of cash and then forced the employees to a back office. The robber subsequently fled the scene of the crime. Detectives are working on acquiring surveillance video at this time.
