Shreveport woman arrested after stabbing boyfriend during argument

Shreveport Police have arrested a local woman in connection with a stabbing reported on Saturday.

At approximately 3:07 p.m. Saturday, Shreveport police officers were called to a house in the 1900 block of Abbie Street to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered 55-year-old Marvin Dumas suffering from a stab wound to his neck. Dumas was transported to a local hospital by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as a life-threatening injury.At last report, he had undergone surgery and was in critical but stable condition.

Detectives learned that the victim had apparently been stabbed inside of his house by his live-in girlfriend, 40-year-old Pamela Alexander. Based on witness accounts and other information gathered, investigators believe Alexander cut Dumas with a knife during an argument.

Alexander was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of attempted second degree homicide.
