Shreveport woman arrested for stealing from company to cover gambling habit
A Shreveport woman was arrested on Thursday for stealing from her employer to cover a gambling habit, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.
28-year-old Danielle M. Moffett was arrested by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Terry Richardson for felony theft over $1,500.
Moffett was an employee of Sports South Inc. working in the returned accessories department when she stole property that was to be processed and placed back into stock or returned to the manufacturer. She then pawned the stolen items for money to support a gambling habit.
Moffett made 47 transactions dealing with stolen property in the past five months. The loss to the company was more than $30,000.
