Law enforcement officers from several different agencies will be teaming up and working together Saturday night to help keep the streets of Shreveport safe.
A safety checkpoint will be held Saturday night in southeast Shreveport to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on roadways. The checkpoint will be a joint effort between the Louisiana State Police, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and the Shreveport Police Department. Officers will be checking for impaired drivers as well as any other violations that could compromise the safety of drivers.
Officials ask the public to join in their efforts to stop traffic fatalities in 2011 and always remember to have a designated driver if you are going to be drinking.
