Traffic mayhem has ensued in Shreveport Monday following a school bus accident.
It happened around 11 p.m. near the intersection of North Spring Street and Lake Avenue.
A Rapides Parish school bus was trying to change lanes when it sideswiped a semi, causing it to knock down an electrical pole, according to Shreveport Police Department.
Officials say 32 kids and 6 teachers were on the bus, but none were injured. The semi driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Traffic at the intersection is jammed from vehicles exiting I-20, and utility crews from SWEPCO estimate traffic will be interrupted until at least 4:30 p.m.
There have also been reports of businesses losing power in the area.
