Two taken to hospital in separate overnight shootings
Authorities are investigating two separate Shreveport shooting that sent two people to the hospital Tuesday night.
According to police, at around 9:51 p.m., officers were sent to the emergency room at a local hospital where a person had was suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. The man told officials he was walking in the 1700 block of Perrin Street when a man approached him from behind and tried to rob him. He then ran from the would-be robber and was shot in the hand. The victim flagged down a friend who gave him a lift to the hospital.
Moments later, another man showed up at the same hospital with a gunshot wound to the forearm. The victim explained to officers he was riding his bicycle near the intersection of Olive Street and Coty Street when he was approached by two men who tried to rob him of his bike. He ran from his attackers and one of the men fired a shot, hitting him in the arm. Family members took the victim to the hospital.
Investigators have recovered evidence from the scene of the Olive Street shooting and are working to determine if these crimes are related.
