Woman injured, three men on the run in home invasion
Shreveport police are searching for three men who broke into an Ingleside home on Tuesday night and shot one of the victims leaving her hospitalized.
Just before 11:30 p.m., Shreveport police responded to a house in the 4200 block of Rightway Avenue. Inside the home, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her lower abdomen. She was transported to the hospital and listed in serious condition after surgery.
After interviewing the victims that were inside the home at the time, investigators say that three black males forced their way into the home through the locked front door. Once inside, they began stealing some items from the residence. The men fired two shots as they were leaving the house, said Sgt. Jim Taliaferro of the Shreveport Police Department. One of those shots hit the victim.
Police responded to the same residence for two burglaries last year, but they do not believe that this burglary is related. The Ingleside neighborhood has seen 34 residential burglaries and one business burglary this year. In 2010, the neighborhood saw 280 residential burglaries and 29 business burglaries.
If you have any information regarding these suspects or the home invasion, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
