Woman kidnapped, raped in Shreveport

Shreveport Police officers are investigating an alleged kidnapping and rape that occurred early this morning.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning an adult female called authorities and reported she had been abducted and raped. The victim advised officers that at approximately 4:00 a.m. this morning, she had stopped at a convenience store in the 300 block of West 70th Street when she was approached by a male suspect who produced a handgun and entered her vehicle through the passenger door. The suspect made the victim to drive to a secluded area nearby where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then ordered the victim drive to an ATM machine at a bank in the 300 block of East 70th Street and forced her to withdraw an amount of cash. The victim then drove the suspect, at his request, to the intersection of West 71st Street and Linwood Avenue where he abandoned her car and fled on foot. The victim did suffer what have been described as non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives need your help in identifying and apprehending this suspect. He is described as a black male with “bulging” eyes in his late thirties, dark complexioned, approximately six feet tall, weighing about 150 pounds with what has been described as a small afro. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants and was armed with a silver handgun.
