SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — With food banks and non-profits facing record requests for services, sourcing and providing protein is often a challenge.
To help meet the high demand for much needed protein, Smithfield Products donated $100,000 worth of protein to benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
“The biggest thing we want to do is encourage other companies and individuals to volunteer, have a food drive and do things to help the local food bank here in Shreveport," Said Dennis Pittman of Smithfield.
The company has made over 100 stops so far ranging from Florida to Alaska and plans to visit more cities in the upcoming months.
