SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — According to officials, abandon house fires can sometimes be the hardest to crack.
The Shreveport Fire Department is currently investigating a number of fires that occurred recently over the past week.
On Saturday around noon, fire crews were called to a abandon house fire in the 2400 Block of Portland Avenue. Two days later a chair was set on fire behind a vacant home in the 2700 Block of W. Caperton. Early the next morning fire crews intercepted a blaze in the 1100 Block of Portland Avenue.
Investigators say while these fires are suspicious, they are counting on the public to help them to find some answers.
"Right now, we haven't been able to connect any dots between the three homes as of this time, they are pretty close in proximity to each other. Based on the neighborhood however, with abandon homes, it’s hard to follow up unless we have some witnesses."
