Former first lady alleged victim of domestic violence
LOUISIANA — Former Louisiana first lady Candy Edwards is alledgly a victim of domestic violence.
The east Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old Brian Low for allegedly beating up edwards.
Low is the father of Edwards' 3-year-old son.
Detectives say she went to pick up her son from Low's mother's house and Low allegedly grabbed her by the neck, threw her across the room and forced her to hit her head on a wall.
Low is booked in the EBR Parish jail on a $200,000 bond.
Candy Edwards was married to former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards, who is now serving a 10-year federal prison sentence.
