The Y.W.C.A in Shreveport is continuing to barely scrape by.

At the end of the day Monday, the organization was in need of a little less than $10,000 to pay their employees, and pay off other expenses.

The economy has hit the organization hard, including mounting debt, and the closure of its Allendale location.

Y.W.C.A employees say they are having to come up with a new financial plan.

"We're working on financial strategies right now," says Executive Director, Amy O'Pry. "We've got the new board in place, so we spent hours last night just talking about our financial situation. We're very excited about where the Y.W.C.A women's shelter is headed."

O'Pry is asking for help from the community, and says any donations can be sent directly to the Y.W.C.A.
