SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — From potholes to bumpy rides to the grocery store, one thing is for sure, Shreveport streets need major improvement.
The City has started on street repair projects but some of those could be in jeopardy of being postponed.
Officials are looking at the option to pull money from the general fund to improve and fund a higher number of street repairs in the city.
That money would be put in reserves so that the City’s savings account has more money.
Some residents say that it’s time to get the job done.
“Shreveport, just wake up and try to put a new face lift on our streets out here. I think it is very important, because Shreveport is a nice city," said local resident Will Carter.
City officials plan to bring up the matter at the next council meeting.
