Local students prepare early
LEAP testing fastly approaching
SHREVEPORT, La. (KMSS) — The LEAP test is one of the biggest tests area students will have to take this spring school year and one local school in bossier parish says preparation is the key.
Students at Curtis Elementary School in Bossier City and all around the State of Louisiana are preparing to take the Louisiana Educational Assessment Program test next month.
The test is given to forth and eighth graders statewide and it also determines if the student will be promoted to the next grade.
One local school official stressed how important it is for parents to help their kids prepare for the test.
“Parents play a vital role in the success of the leap test. Students have the ability to get help online with teachers while at home,” said Terri Ann Bird who is the Assistant Principle at Curtis Elementary School.
Students will take the first phase of the test on March 19th and the second phase on April 8th.
