CADDO PARISH: Skeletal remains belonging to a human were found near Flournoy Lucas and Highway 1 early this morning. According to Caddo coroner Todd Thoma, some teenagers had discovered the bones about two weeks ago, and had taken pictures with their phones, but did not alert their parents or authorities. When the mother found out last night, she made the boys promise to tell her where the bones were this morning. The boys took her to the location, where she discovered the same skeletal remains.
The Caddo Parish Coroner tells Fox 33, there are thigh bones and skull bones, along with several unidentified pieces. They're scattered across an empty field, and they've most likely been there for years. At this time, there's no indication if the bones belong to a man or woman, how the person died or how they ended up there.
A team from the Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services (FACES) at Louisiana State University will be here tomorrow to examine the scene. Until then, the entire area's been cordoned off by Sheriff's Deputies, who will remain there through the night.
