BOSSIER PARISH -- According the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Department, two men from Bivens, Texas were out on the Red River this afternoon, when their boat hit a rock or jetty of some sort, throwing both men from the craft. It happened at the River Bend Marina around 4 this afternoon in Elm Grove.

A passing boat found one man alive, but he was suffering from a head wound and hypothermia. After a 2-hour search, by the Wildlife and Fisheries department, along with several other agencies, the second fisherman could not be located.

Lt. Bill Davis tells Fox 33 as soon as it is light again, crews will resume searching the river for the other boater. They are concerned that because of the high water levels, and cold wind, it will be a recovery mission, and not a rescue mission. Fox 33 crews will be on scene as soon as day breaks with the latest information.
