A man was hospitalized and another is behind bars Tuesday afternoon following gunfire in north Shreveport.

At around 3:00 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Oregon Aveunue to reports that a man had been shot.

On officers arrival, they discovered a shooting victim, Isaac Thomas, 26, of Shreveport, had suffered a minor graze wound to the head while at another location.

Police believe Thomas was at a house in the 2900 block of Victor Street, when a dispute occurred between him and another man. During the argument, the other man, later identified as Scott Knight, 26, of Shreveport, allegedly pulled a handgun, and hit Thomas in the head, causing the weapon to fire.  Authorities believe after the bullet grazed Thomas, he drove Oregon Avenue, where he contacted law enforcement.

Patrol officers found Knight near an abandoned home close-by David Raines Road at Gordonia Drive.  He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for questioning.

Following the interview, the alleged shooter was booked into jail on aggravated battery and felon in possession of a firearm.
