Shreveport, La — A local man was hospitalized from injuries sustained Monday morning following a shooting the previous night in west Shreveport.
Just after 11:00 p.m., police were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of Lakeshore Drive. When authorities arrived, they discovered Chris Taylor, 36, of Shreveport suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to a nearby hospital for what are considered to be non life threatening injuries.
Detectives learned from Taylor that he was walking through an alleyway behind a convenience store near the intersection of Hearne Avenue at Lakeshore Drive, when a man wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt attacked him. He alledges the assailant struggled with him briefly before firing multiple shots-- one hitting Taylor. The gunman, whose identify remains a mystery, ran from the scene following the shooting and is being looked for at this hour.
The perpetrator was described as a black man, about 5' 6" and weighing roughly 150 pounds. Authorities are asking anyone with any information about this shooting to please contact Shreveport-Caddo Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373.
