2 arrested for marijuana possession after routine traffic stop

Monday morning, a State Trooper assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop G stopped a car for a traffic violation on Interstate 20 eastbound west of Arcadia in Bienville Parish,

The routine stop eventually led to the discovery of marijuana in the car.

The driver of the vehicle, Jamar Harris, 24, of Cleveland, Mississippi, gave consent to search the vehicle he was driving. During a search of the vehicle, troopers located approximately three pounds of marijuana and $1,900.

Taylor was placed under arrest and charged with following too close, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

A passenger in the vehicle Harris was driving, Arsenio Nelson, 23, of Cleveland, Mississippi, was also placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

Both men were booked into the Bienville Parish Jail.
